2020 Resolutions And How I Am Going To Stick to Them

I love having goals and the feeling of accomplishing them and crossing them off. So the beginning of the year is a great time to think about your life and what areas you want to improve or just stop doing. My 2020 resolutions are listed down below, but I have also outlined how I am going to accomplish them.

One thing that I am going to incorporate into accomplishing these goals is to say these goals while I am working out. Weird, I know, but I heard on this Skinny Confidential Podcast with Ed Mylett. He works with athletes and he said that they reach their goals because they can see themselves achieving their goal and do this while they are working out. I’ll work on this and report back with my thoughts.

No Credit Card Debt!

I got into a LOT of credit card debt after college and I am still paying for it (literally). I spent all of 2019 paying off my credit cards and I am happy to say that on January 15th 2020, I will make my final payment on my last credit card! So this goal will be accomplished early this year.

Have $5,000 in Saving by End of Year

Since I won’t have credit card payments every month, I want to be able to have $5,000 in savings by December 2020. If I put $400-$500 a month, I will get there. I also get bonus every quarter which I can add to as well throughout the year.

Save YES to More

2019 wasn’t a very adventurous year and why (I think) is because I said no to almost everything! Whether it was because of money, my anxiety, laziness, I just didn’t do a lot. I want Bryan and I to have adventures to look back on and not just work and school the first few years of marriage.

Be More Positive

Kinda like the goal above, I felt like saying no to things put me in a bad mood at times. Especially at work, I found myself complaining and being annoyed by the little things (there were definitely reasons to be bad, but still). I would look at other people’s lives and wish I had theirs and would feel like a loser because of where I was in my life. BUT NO MORE!!!!

Take More Pictures

When I was doing my 2019 Recap, I didn’t have a lot of photos oddly. My camera roll is mainly of Lottie which isn’t bad, but I want more pictures of Bryan and me, family, activities, and my day-to-day.

Utah Bucket List

Bryan and I have been living in Utah for over 3 years and both haven’t ventured out, like at all, and we don’t know how long we will be living here. I saw a bucket list of a bunch of places on Pinterest that I want to try to visit this year. With us saying yes to more, not having credit card debt, and me wanting to take more pictures, this is a must.

Build a Capsule Wardrobe

I like to think I have pretty good style, but I spend A LOT of time trying to figure out what I want to wear in the morning, on the days that I try. So, this year I am focusing on looking at the versatility of a piece before I buy it. I want to purchase items that I love and be more meaningful with my purchases.

Here are some of my style inspiration:

Get Rid of My Cellulite

I have cellulite and I HATE IT! My legs and cellulite is my biggest insecurity about my body. I have been consistent about going to the gym in 2019, but I am ready for the next phase which is being more mindful of the exercises I am doing and how effective they are.

To help with this goal I am going to:

  • Hit the gym 4 times a week
  • Continue to eat healthily (Intermittent Fasting, limit carbs, little to no sugar)

Learn How To Bleach Hair at Home

I know some people are going to be raging! But I am so tired of not getting what I want when I go to the hair salon. All I want is platinum all over, how hard is that? Not hard.

I’ve done it myself in college without damage, but then I tried a few years ago and damaged the crap out of it. I’m doing research before I do it again and asking stylist friends questions. I know where I went wrong. Soooo I think it’s gonna be ok…right?

Blog Post Every Sunday

I started being consistent in November, but I want to keep it going to have a creative outlet, learn new things, and be a resource if people are interested in learning with me. I have always loved writing, fashion, and sharing what I love with people.

Publish YouTube Video Every Thursday

I love editing. I almost got my media production degree in college. I also love being on camera. Is that conceited and narcissistic? Probably but that’s me. Haha. I usually do hair videos because people ask me how I do my hair so that is the best way for me to share my tips.

What are your 2020 resolutions? How are you going to stick to them? I would love to know!
