I love basics! I feel like everyone does or at least wears basics most of the time. Sometimes we feel like if we wear the same basics over and over, our outfits will start to look the same or be boring. I am going to show you 3 different outfit looks with the same black bodysuit and jeans.
The Outfit Basics
I recently got this black bodysuit from Macy’s online and was only $24. It is the Danielle Bernstein line and it comes in black, white, and grey.
I purchased the white and black. It is a thong bottom and a snap crotch closure. The sides of the shirt are relatively high so just be sure to wear high-waisted bottoms.
This black bodysuit is not see through but the white one is a little sheer. And I like the looser fitting t style of this one.
I have heard that Abercrombie’s bodysuits are really good. They are thong style with snaps and come in black and white. Also the Everlane ones. You can actually choose if you want a bikini or thong style and they have snaps as well. Everlane’s bodysuits come in a few different colors.
My jeans are from Old Navy and are probably my favorite pair I own. They are a mid rise, light wash, distressed jeans.

Flannel & Sneakers
If you are new around here. Hi, I’m Annie and I live in sneakers!
If I can, I always wear sneakers. They are just more practical. So this is a total everyday outfit for me just WFH or running to the store if I want something besides my sweatpants.
And the flannel or shacket trend is awesome for someone who is always cold but doesn’t want to bundle up with a bunch of layers. Shackets are usually thicker but not full like a traditional coat. More like a cardigan type.
Shop the look and pieces below!
Long Cardigan & Mules
Long cardigans are a must in my book for out and about or just chilling at home.
This one is from Walmart a few years ago but they usually have a new style every year.
I love mules or slip on loafers whatever you call these because they kinda dress up the outfit if you don’t want to be as casual as sneakers.
You could even throw on a headband or scarf with this to add to it even more!
Hat, Bootie, & Dress Coat
Hats can really add to an outfit. Yeah, this would be cute without the cabby hat but the hat really makes it better.
No matter what type of hat, just add a hat.
I also love my tan dress coat! I’ve had this one from J.Crew Factory for 3 years and it was worth the price. I’ll link a few different ones with different prices but this is a piece that you can keep for years. If you need more winter coat options, check out this post I did all about different winter coats you can try.
These booties are from Target years ago but they come out with a new style every year.
Layered necklaces will add even more style to this outfit and dress it up. I usually just use ‘costume jewelry’ like from Forever 21 or HM for layered necklaces and stacks.
These are just some different ways to wear a black bodysuit and how to wear the same basics but styled differently.
How do you style your basics?
