Finally a normal family holiday! Getting back to large get-togethers and I couldn’t be more excited! Let’s get into the 10 cute Thanksgiving outfits that you will be able to go from table to couch and fall into your gravy coma.
What are the best Thanksgiving Outfits?
Before we get into the outfit ideas for sitting down at the Thanksgiving table and shoveling your weight in mashed potatoes, let’s talk about the things we don’t want in our clothing choices for the holiday.
We don’t want:
- Anything too tight. We need room for the food baby
- Anything too short. Grandma might be there or your Great Aunt Sue. Gotta look classy.
- Anything itchy. We don’t have time to be unforgettable.
- Only one layer. It might be cold outside, but once you are bicep curling your fork to your mouth you might break into a sweat.
How to make cute Thanksgiving Outfits?
Sweater Dress Outfits
You can do so much with a sweater dress. Wear with a belt/belt bag. Wear with mule slides and a hat. Style with thigh-high boots. Layer with a fur vest or even sneakers because who wears shoes at Thanksgiving really!

Lounge Set
If you are going to wear sweatpants, dress it up a little bit by layering on some jewelry. Do your hair and make-up! How to make it look less like you rolled out of bed, do your hair, and make up. Or you can through on a beanie.

Oversized Sweater and Jeans
I love jeans, or you could switch them out for leggings. But oversized sweaters are so cozy and perfect for a holiday get-together. Dress it up with a button-up underneath and some cute booties.

Tunic and Leggings
Some tips when wearing a tunic, make sure the sides are open, not constricting, or tight around the hips. Or have the scooping hem. Don’t have the hem of the tunic hit you at the widest part of your leg. I linked sweaters that have these elements if you need an idea.

Sweater Blazer
Sweater blazers are perfect to say warm and layer but need to feel constricted like regular blazers can be. Dress it down with straight-leg jeans and sneakers or dress up with mules and a nice blouse. A cami or bodysuit underneath would be the best option especially if you live in a warmer climate.

Midi Skirt
Midi skirts are great to make sure there is length but not swallowing you whole like maxi skirts or dresses can. Make sure you are eventuating your waist whether you are wearing a bodysuit or tying a shirt or sweater to suck it in.

Long Sleeve Layered Under Dresses
Since it’s colder, utilize your summer dresses for the fall by layering long sleeves under them. I would stay away from short sleeves because I can look childish but that’s just my opinion. Dress it up with heels or mules or dress it down with sneakers.
Stick with dresses that are more tank top style or spaghetti straps. I would also avoid braids or pigtails when wearing this look.

Jumpsuits
I love jumpsuits. It’s one and done. You can layer under them or over the top with a cardigan or sweater blazer. Tip: leave space between the bottom hem of the leg of the jumpsuit and the top of the shoe.

Sherpa
Stay cozy with a sherpa and wear with leggings or jeans. And take the cozy level up with some Ugg boots! Or dress up more with booties.

Joggers
Joggers are basically like sweat pants but more structured, depending on the fabric. I would recommend wearing a t-shirt with either a denim or moto jacket paired with sneakers or mules. That’s my favorite way to wear them! I also have a whole post dedicated to How To Style Joggers to get more ideas.
