You have probably heard about the Dyson Hair Dryer or the Airwrap, but if you looked into it, they are over $400!! Even refurbished. Everyone says that it is worth it, but I don’t know. I can’t really justify it. So I was on the hunt for a dupe that was more affordable.
I found one to test out! It’s the Remington Curling Iron, but it is the Pre Wet2Dry Styler. It looks like a little blow dryer/curling iron.
If you want to try it out yourself, through it in your Amazon cart here.
Quick Highlights:
- It’s lightweight
- You can take it apart and purchase other Wet2style tools and just use one base
- It has a full clamp like a regular curling iron
- Settings are high speed/cold, low speed/low heat, and high speed/high heat
How I used it
- On dry hair, I sprayed water from a spray bottle on each section of hair
- I curled away from my face with the curling iron vertical
- Once my hair was fully wrapped, I turned on the high heat high setting.
- I held it for 20 seconds
- I turned the cold air high setting for another 10-20 seconds
- Repeat on each section of hair
My Final Thoughts:
I haven’t use the Dyson Airwrap so I can’t compare it directly to that.
You need slightly damp hair. When I was testing it out, I had to mist my hair with a water bottle.
I tried it on dry hair and it didn’t do anything.
When my hair was about 90% dry, it still didn’t dry it or hold any style.
It didn’t hold all day. It was pretty straight by the end of the day.
I did only hold the heat setting for 20 seconds and then cold for another 20 seconds.
It took longer than I would want to take on my hair in the morning.
It does seem to have less damage on your hair, but in the end, I prefer to curl my hair once and have it last a week. If you want to learn how you should be curling your hair to make it last, check out my blog post here.
I read some other Amazon reviews and other people agree with me and I wouldn’t recommend buying it.
However, it might work for you if you have hair more on the shorter side and don’t mind styling your hair everyday.
Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?
