I always say have 2-4 simple hairstyles that you can do super fast in the morning to get out the door. Today, I have 5 simple hairstyles that you can test to see if any of these can be some of your go-to hairstyles when you need to get out the door in a hurry.
I like to start with some type of texture in my hair as opposed to just straight hair. Deep waves are my personal favorite, but I have a whole blog post of which hair tools are essential which includes a straightener to do waves, curls, or ‘messy kinks’.

1.Half-Up Twist Through
Put about 1/3 of hair into a ponytail from the crown of your head. Leave the front pieces around your face out of the ponytail.
Take the sides of the ponytail, the pieces around your face, and tie them with a ponytail holder over the first ponytail.
Take the top ponytail that you pulled from the sides and put your finger up through the bottom of the ponytail to make a hole. Twist your fingers from facing up, to facing down to hold the ponytail. Grab the bottom ponytail through the hole in the twist.
Sometimes the ponytail holder will lean to the side but you can push it under the ponytail to hide it. Pull-on one side to get it to slide under.
And DONE! Don’t worry, I have a video to show you how to do it.
2.Flip Through Princess Hair
Take the front sections of your hair and tie it under your chin with a clear elastic.
Flip the ponytail twice through towards your face and flip it over your head to have it lay on the back of your head.
Pull on the outside of the twist out to define it and give it more volume.
If your tail sticks up, add a heavy clip to help lay it down. And DONE!
3.Knotted Messy Bun
Start with your hair in a ponytail.
Fan your hair around the ponytail holder and secure it with a ponytail holder. I recommend a thin one and close to your hair color.
Now pull the bun to fill it out to make it more ‘bun’ like.
Take the remaining hair, section it in two, and tie a knot on top of the bun. If you have longer hair, you can continue tying the tails in knots until your ends are short enough. Or you could tie once and just bobby pin the ends under the bun.
Secure the bun and the ends with bobby pins. And DONE!
4.Twisted Ponytail
I started with teasing the crown of my head for some volume. This part is optional.
Then scoop your hair into a ponytail to have a loose, but voluminous ponytail. To ‘scoop’ your hair, take your hair like you would a regular ponytail but instead of going straight up into the ponytail, take your hair under like scooping and up into the ponytail.
Wrap hair around the ponytail holder and tuck the tail back into the elastic.
Split your ponytail into two sections.
Tie the two sections with clear elastics near the bottom before your layers.
Flip the two sections twice toward your head.
Put the right section through the left section, twist the now right section away from your head and put the left section through the right, and continue until you are at the end of your ponytail.
Tie off the bottom with an elastic.
Pull the rope braid apart aka ‘pancaking’ to make it look fuller and bigger. Pull on the outer part of the hair and not the whole strand.
And DONE!
5.Twin Rope Braid Ponytail
Have your hair in a middle part, section off one side, and grab hair from your eye for the first section.
Split that section in half. With the back piece, twist it around your finger away from your face and take the front section back and twist it around the other section. Always twist away from your face.
Keep going down and adding hair with each back section that you twist. Like you would a french braid.
When you add hair, add it to the back section and always twist away from your face.
Do the same thing on the other side. Twist away from your face.
Join both sections at the back of your head and secure with a clear elastic.
Wrap hair around the elastic and tuck it into the elastic.
And DONE!
I hope these 5 simple hairstyles gave you some ideas for your hair. Let me know if you try them out!
