The Best Leather Leggings & How To Style!

Who doesn’t love leggings? Sometimes we have to look the part but we also want to be comfy. Enter in: Faux Leather Leggings. I have been on the hunt for the best leather leggings and I FOUND THEM!

My criteria:

  • Tight but not show EVERYTHING
  • Affordable (to try out the trend)
  • Comfortable waistband
  • Somewhat okay crotch situation

I found these leather leggings at Target for only $20. They are the brand A New Day.

Below I break them down for you with the pros and cons as well as some leather leggings outfit inspiration.

I wore them one day for work to really test them out
Here is a close-up crotch shot to see how they look

Sizing Reference

These leggings are comfortable, high waisted, flattering. I am 5’6″ and 130-135 lbs and am wearing them in a size Small. Usually, I prefer wearing Mediums on bottoms because I don’t like the super tight feeling, but with these, you need them to be tighter so the crotch doesn’t do the weird bunchy thing.

Things To Keep In Mind

You do have to hike them up until you find the comfortable fit for you where the crotch seam isn’t sagging (how many times can I say crotch…).

When tucking tops into them, you can see bumps, so wear thin undergarments and be aware that the extra material will show (see below). Or you can tuck the sweater into your bra to avoid the extra material. Or knot the sweater with a ponytail holder and tuck it under.

What to Wear With Leather Leggings

Faux leather leggings are so versatile! You can literally wear them with anything. An oversized sweatshirt or sweatshirt, a tunic top, a lacy cami, a sweater, the options are endless.

I only have 3 outfits styled, but I also wore it to work with just a black cable knit sweater to test them out sitting, standing, walking, and eating through an entire workday. I got a lot of compliments on them mainly because I usually only wear jeans to work so my coworkers were surprised to see me in something different.

Casual with a Sweatshirt

The rundown of this outfit is so simple you probably have most (if not all) in your closet already.

I started with the leggings, threw on one of Bryan’s grey hoodies, layered on my tan dress coat, white sneakers, my hair in a top pony, and my crossbody bag.

Oversized Button Down

No back pockets so your butt is very exposed

This came from a Pinterest photo, but it was paired with sneakers for a more casual look which is still really cute.

I just added a size Large white button-down, tucked into the leggings, and slipped on my slides. Once I put it on and looking at the pictures, I might just loosely tuck in the front and let the back of the shirt out. Easy but profesh and cute!

Business In A Blazer

This outfit is business approved. I’m still working on how to wear a blazer and style it but I thought it was appropriate with the leggings. What do you think?
