Braids are always in style but lately the Pinterest Winter Hair Braid has been blowing up my feed on Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. So I wanted to put together a quick and easy tutorial on how to do it! Check out the new braided hairstyles below with a video and pictures for however you want to learn how to do it (with some tips).
This post is all about the Winter Hair Braid.

Step 1:
Put your hair into a half ponytail right at ear level.
TIP: if you have thinner hair, just take the top section of hair and leave as much hair under the ponytail out as possible.
Step 2:
Flip that ponytail through as a topsy tail up and over.
Step 3:
Pull up at the base of the ponytail to give more lift and tighten the ponytail. Pull at the front to give more volume around your hairline if you want.
Step 4:
Start braiding a normal 3 strand braid all the way down. I start with the far right strand to cross over the middle section that holds the ponytail, then cross the left side over the new middle strand (that was the right section).
Step 5:
Continue braiding.
Step 6:
Pull at the braid to fluff it up to make it look fuller and thicker. Pulling at just the outside makes it wider especially if you have thinner hair.
