Sephora Holiday Sale 2020 – How to Shop & My Picks

It’s time for the 2020 Sephora Holiday Sale! Let’s get into what it means to be in the Sephora Loyalty Program, how to apply, and why it benefits you. Don’t worry, I also lay out my top picks for the sale that I am going to purchase as well as products that I already love.

How To Apply To The Sephora Loyalty Program

If you love beauty products and you shop at Sephora, you need to apply to their Loyalty Program which is to be a Beauty Insider. It’s a regular point system where however much money you spend, you get that in points and those points get you rewards throughout the year that you can ‘cash in’.

They have gifts for 100, 300, and 500 points for different products and they drop new items all the time. You can save them or spend them as you get them.

You also get a free Sephora birthday gift for the month of your birthday. Technically, you can get the birthday gift anytime.

Different Types of Loyalty Status

Depending on how much you spend at Sephora depends on your status. There are three different types.

Insider

Being an Insider basically means you spend some money at Sephora. There is no spend amount, but you are signed up for the program.

VIB

To be at the VIB status, you have to have spent at least $350 in a calendar year.

Rouge

The Rouge definition is you have to have spent at least $1,000 in a calendar year.

There are different benefits to these different status’. Mainly, it’s the Sephora Sales that happen 2 times a year. The first one of the year is in the Spring and the other one is during the Holidays.

Sephora Sale Holiday 2020 Picks

This year (2020) for the Holiday sale is 10/30-11/9. Depending on your status, you get access to the sale at different times and different percentage off.

Sephora Holiday Sale 2020

To access the sale, make sure you use your Sephora login, or you can make one and sign up for the rewards right then online to get the 10% discount. Then at checkout, you will need to put in the Promo Code “HOLIDAYFUN” to get your discount.

I’ve laid out my top picks for this sale based on things I have tried and loved as well as things I want to try.

Hair Picks

Oalplex Set – This is something I am snagging in the sale! Oalplex is a great brand for hair that is a little more damaged. This kit comes with the treatment, shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner. If you are a blonde and bleach your hair all the time, this is a must.

Invisibobble Hair Ties – I have given up all my regular black hair ties for either these or scrunchies. These don’t stretch out (if they do one you take them out of your hair they coil back up), they give your ponytails more volume, and I find them less damaging. These are some of my favorites.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo Set – This is one of my favorite dry shampoos. I did a whole blog post on the best dry shampoos and tips on how to use it properly and this definitely made the cut. It works on all hair types, gives a little volume, and helps if your hair is a little sweaty smelling.

Slip Hair Scrunchies – As I said with the Invisibobble hair ties, I only use those or silk scrunchies. These are definitely a splurge for a hair tie, but they are so much better for your hair and if you get them in the sale, why not! They have different sizes to choose from, but I personally like the slim ones best.

DryBar Interchangeable Style Iron – I love DryBar! Their products are really good in my opinion. Their styling irons are good but not like exceptional. HOWEVER, I’m all about a deal and saving space so this is literally a Curling Iron, Waver, Curling Wand, AND it comes with a brush and 4 of their top styling products that I have used and love. SUCH a great deal for all of this. (I also did a blog post on the top 3 heat styling tools you need and my DryBar products made it. Check it out.)

Skin Picks

Summer Fridays Hydration Set – People can’t stop talking about the Jet Lag Mask or the Lip Balm for Summer Fridays. If you you dryer skin, this is a great set to get. The mask is so versatile, you can use it as a mask, moisturizer, make up primer, and more. I’ve even heard that the Butter Lip Balm is better than the Laneige Sleep Mask.

Peter Thomas Roth Sulfur Mask – I don’t stray from my R+F sulfur mask but if you want to get one at a little discount in this sale, this is a good one. Sulfur is amazing for acne and helping clear your skin to zap those zits and prevent new ones. This is a great option.

First Aid Beauty Set – When I first started getting into skincare (before I was introduced to Rodan + Fields) I loved First Aid Beauty. It was simple and worked. This kit will give you the most bang for your buck when trying out different products from the brand. The kit includes the pad, face wash, and lip treatment that I started with and really liked. I recommend this if you need to get into some skincare and want it all.

Dr Dennis Gross Daily Peel – This is a cult favorite if you have acne scarring, uneven skin tone, and discoloration. These ‘chemical peel pads’ give you the benefits of a chemical peel without the downtime.

Misc Picks

Fragrance Sampler – Fragrance is a hard thing, for yourself to choose and a gift. But this is an awesome option, you get 13 mini perfumes to test out and once you find one you like, you have a certificate to get your favorite for a full bottle for FREE. So great to give as a gift for someone, or yourself.

Bite Beauty Lip Scrub and Mask – I don’t have time for crusty lips so this duo is perfect to exfoliate your lips for the dry winter air and apply a hydrating sleep mask to wake up to soft plump lips. I’ve used the mask in the past and it is very thick, so best for the night.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Duo – I like the formula and the color of this and people have been talking about it for YEARS! This is a mini which is perfect to try it out and see if it work for you. And who really used all their lip products fully? I will say this color looks best on lighter complexion but try a darker one because the formula is pretty hydrating for a lipstick.

Mario Badescu Lip Balm – Like I said I can’t do crusty lips, but a lot of dry store lip balms make your lips addicted to the product using more and more. Not good. This lip balm is hydrating without being addictive and feeling like you have to keep putting it on to keep that soft feeling. 10/10 recommend, especially for the price.

Christopher Robin Scalp Scrub – Sometimes we forget that we need to really take care of our scalp for healthy hair. I haven’t tried a scalp scrub but these reviews say that this is the OG and one of the best. If you suffer from dry, flaky, and irritated scalp, you might need to exfoliate it. I’m definitely going to be picking this up.

So, those are my picks for the Sephora Holiday sale. What are you going to be picking up? Is there something I have totally missed? Let me know!

XO, Annie
